The Benefits of Being Lazy

I'm lazy. So lazy, I sometimes have to force myself to not stop and sit down halfway on the way to my classes. I don't get physically tired, but thinking about how much farther I have to go makes me almost feel tired.
Now that you know how lazy I am, I'm going to tell you how it has completely changed my life for the better. I know some of you are probably rolling your eyes already, but hear me out. This is real and this is good. Being lazy doesn't always have to be a bad thing, just let me prove it to you.
  • I have learned to love myself from being lazy. Many girls/ women wake up early to primp themselves for the day, which is great. More power to the women who do because Lord knows I could not do that. I do not wear makeup everyday and I could tell you that it's because I'm going against the patriarchy or because women shouldn't wear it and be true to themselves or some crap like that. The real reason I don't wear makeup is because I'm not willing to wake up even a little bit earlier to put it on. Yes, I've had people tell me that I should try it and yes I do wear it on occasion, but I don't feel the need for it anymore. Not wearing makeup has made me completely comfortable with my face and with who I am, and I can thank my laziness for that.
  • I don't take myself too seriously. Arrogance takes effort and that is something I don't always have. If I make a mistake, oh well. If I don't look all that great that day, oh well. If I came off as a horrible person to someone, oh freakin' well. If I actually thought about everything I did wrong, I would probably have an instant panic attack and those don't sound like too much fun.
  • I "make" time for important things. There's no way to get around the fact that I'm a major procrastinator. I wait until the night before something is due to do it and I've convinced myself that I work better this way, which is not entirely a lie. I take advantage of the time I should be working on school work to do things that I enjoy and to spend time with people I care about. Laziness is great for my friendships.
Don't mistake this for me trying to tell you how to live your life. This is pretty much just one long excuse that turned out pretty well. So if you're lazy, more power to you. If you're not lazy, bless your soul.
