Sweet Like Amber

Find friends that inspire you like Amber continues to inspire me. Here's a poem I wrote as I sat across from her over a cup of coffee and musings from one of her journals she walked me through.

josie:

the buzz of life
is easier with you.
having you around
is tangibly sweet
like honey in a latte
I can taste it in the air
cutting through the bitter coffee
that reflects my soul

amber:

• 10.28.13: If love does not displace you, you are displacing love.
• 10.30.13: At my age, every day is an identity crisis.
• 11.9.13: Never stop getting to know the people you know best.
• 12.18.13: If life turns out to be what you expected, you're not living well enough. 
• 2.10.14: People ruin people. But people build people, too.
• 4.11.14: But time is just a man's illusion, not the disposition of the world.
• 4.23.14: With every shore we find, be sure, we will get lost again. 
• 5.31.14: After six years, it's still nice to meet you. 
• 6.15.14: Normal is a sign that we've taken things for granted again.
• 7.30.14: This is not an account of my eyes and what they noticed, but rather of my heart and what it became.

• 9.30.14: Just when we think we know what's happening, something happens.
• 11.26.14: I've built a house in Love, and I'm not going back to stone.
• 1.5.15: Love is like listening to a song for the first time and realizing that somehow it always has been and forever will be your favorite.
• 2.20.15: Love turns us gentle and makes us powerful.
• 3.31.15: This world is far too dark to close your eyes and far to beautiful for us to fear.
• 7.17.15: Find someone who's made out of the same stuff as you, and keep making each other something new. ​​
